1/2 cup original old fashioned oats
1 cup water
mix together in microwave safe bowl~cook on high 2 mins
immediately add; 1/4-1/2 frozen blueberries and stir, then add half a banana ( or whole whatever you want) and about T of honey, stir and devour...

Robin, I've been on the hunt for oatmeal that tastes like it used to when I was a kid. .that nutty flavor seems to have been processed right out of it. .at least in that familiar round box.
ReplyDeleteThe closest that I've found so far, is made by The Silver Palate. (from the same people with the cookbook by the same name. .and they live about 20 miles away, running a very quaint Inn) I can find it in grocery stores around here, but if you can't, you can buy it on line.

The other one you might want to try, that makes an extremely smooth oatmeal, is from Zingerman's. I order from them periodically, and it always arrives very quickly and packaged very well. They also make the most wonderful breads!!

Thanks for sharing, I guess I'll need to research this eating habit. I know it's going to be hard to give up my greek yogurt.
